Our Mission Statement
Pima Lung & Sleep is a group medical practice specializing in comprehensive health care. Our mission is to provide for the needs of the community, to embrace the whole person in mind, body, and spirit; to serve all people (especially those most in need) with dignity, respect, and compassion. Our physicians and staff regard the welfare of our patients above all. We respect the integrity of every relationship and pledge continuous improvement, leadership, education, mentoring, and cost-effective treatment for the people we serve.
Regarding COVID-19
The health and safety of our patients, staff, and community is of the utmost importance to us.
During the COVID-19 health crisis, we are taking extraordinary precautions for the safety of our patients and staff.
Before arriving for an appointment, patients must answer NO to all of the following questions:
- Do you have a fever or have you felt hot or feverish recently (14-21 days)?
- Are you having shortness of breath more than what is usual for you? We understand that many respiratory patients have chronic breathlessness.
- Do you have a cough that is worse than what is usual for you? We understand that many respiratory patients may have a chronic cough.
- Any flu-like symptoms such as body aches, diarrhea, headache, loss of smell, or fatigue that is worse than usual?
- Have you experienced recent loss of taste or smell?
- Are you in contact with any confirmed Covid-19 positive individuals?
- Have you traveled in the past 14 days or had contact with anyone who has traveled within the last 14 days?
If you answered YES to any of the above questions, please call our office at 520-229-8878 before your appointment.
We are also providing video consultations using Zoom, FaceTime, Doxy.me, and Skype. Please request a virtual visit, if you desire. These spots are limited for those in need. The office staff and management will help to triage.

Social distancing is being applied in our waiting room. In between patients, seats will be reserved and kept empty to enforce distancing. All patients must arrive wearing a mask. Please look up CDC guidelines for appropriate masks. Please review Pima County guidelines. Patients may opt to wait in their vehicle. Please provide your cell phone number so that the front office may contact you as needed. Only patients, who require assistance, may bring individuals with them. Children are not allowed in the lobby or on the premises. Caregivers must call ahead, and inform the front office or manager regarding needs. So that we may serve you appropriately.
Pulmonary function testing, sleep lab evaluation, etc is being limited to those without COVID, and with a need. For those patients, getting routine evaluations, please ask to reschedule to a later more appropriate time, when the pandemic is over.
Patients must expect to be screened. Questions will be asked, temperature will be checked. If you feel that you have COVID or have been exposed, please call and reschedule. We will assist in appropriate triaging.
Staffing patterns have been adjusted due to the pandemic and CDC recommendations. Our staff is attentive and dedicated to your care. For those leaving messages, please understand that these will be retrieved and answered within a week. For those running out of prescriptions, please plan and call the office at least one week in advance. For those rescheduling appointments, the staff will retrieve messages and return your call, as expeditiously as possible.
